The APsystems / APsmart RSD-S-PLC-20A is a next-generation module-level rapid shutdown device designed to meet modern North American solar safety requirements. This updated 20A version replaces previous 15A models, providing higher current handling to support today’s larger, high-output solar modules. Engineered with PLC communication, the device maintains normal operation through a continuous transmitter heartbeat signal and executes rapid shutdown when the signal is absent. Designed to meet NEC 2017, 2020, and 2023 (690.12) requirements, the RSD-S-PLC-20A also complies with SunSpec rapid shutdown standards. With a compact, weather-resistant NEMA Type 6P / IP68 enclosure, it is built for long-term rooftop reliability in demanding environments.
